🕖 Every Thursday | Music Begins at 8:00 PM
The Otis Walker Blues Jam is more than just another open jam—it's a weekly gathering of musicians, music lovers, and friends who come together to celebrate the blues and the traditions of Southern music.
If you've been to the jam before, you know this moment.
After the house band finishes the opening set, the room gets quiet.
The drummer starts a drumroll.
The crowd begins counting down...
3... 2... 1...
Otis reveals the Password of the Week, officially opening the stage for the evening.
Every Thursday has its own password, and that moment has become one of the traditions that makes the Otis Walker Blues Jam unlike any other jam around.
The password isn't announced online or ahead of time—you have to be there to experience it.
Whether you've played the blues for forty years or you're stepping onto a jam stage for the very first time, you're welcome here.
Bring your instrument, introduce yourself to Otis before the music starts, and become part of the tradition.
The Otis Walker Blues Jam is built on one simple idea:
Great music is meant to be shared.
So grab a seat, enjoy the house band, meet some new friends, and when the password is revealed...
Let's play the blues.

For Otis Walker, the blues has never just been a style of music—it has always been a way of bringing people together.
As a keyboard player, vocalist, educator, and bandleader, Otis has spent decades performing throughout the Southeast while developing a deep appreciation for the traditions of blues, soul, Southern rock, and New Orleans funk.
He founded the Otis Walker Blues Jam with one goal in mind: to create a place where experienced professionals, aspiring musicians, and music lovers could share the stage, learn from one another, and keep the blues alive for future generations.
Every Thursday, Otis welcomes everyone with the same philosophy:
Leave your ego at the door. Bring your passion for music.
Whether you're a first-time player or a seasoned professional, you'll find a community that celebrates great music, encourages new musicians, and believes that the best jams happen when everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
When he's not hosting the Blues Jam, Otis leads the Otis Walker Band, teaches music through Long Ears Music School, and works to build opportunities for musicians throughout North Alabama.
"The jam isn't about me. It's about creating a place where musicians feel at home and where the next generation falls in love with the blues."
